- Adam’s Cash & Carry
Adam’s Cash & Carry, formed in 2003 continues to grow year on year.
The business; a supplier of food from around the world to customers all over the Eastern region, prides itself on its customer service, its can do approach, the variety it offers and its innovative and cost effective “home brand”.
Having seen significant growth, the company outgrew its premises moved to its current location in Peterborough to allow for further development of the business.
Drive for greater profitability
Whilst the owners of Adam’s could see their business was growing, they realised that they were not hitting the predicted levels of profitability on turnover and were struggling to understand why.
This frustration saw the owners spending significant amounts of time looking at their business for reasons why they weren’t realising their expected profit levels, rather than focussing on the key business drivers, which in itself affected profits.
The owners knew they needed help, as they had to understand and deal with issues such as:
- Why, when we are achieving our expected sales are we not as profitable as predicted?
- The drive for greater sales affecting the administration and business planning required to grow the business profitably
- The frustration at not having anyone to turn to give the advice they needed, when they felt they needed it without a fee’s clock continually ticking?
- Business advice and planning, ensuring a clear path to achieving their goals
These measures included:
- Delivering £150,000 of increased profits in one year through advanced tax planning
- Increasing profits by 179% in the last year alone!
- Saving £70,000 in tax through capital allowances on the purchase of a new £1 Million building
- Found independent funding for essential refrigeration machinery when the company’s bank had declined
A different approach
Adam’s were introduced to aa Accountants at one of their seminars and immediately saw the stark differences’ in their drive for business growth to that of their more traditional accountants. Through a free consultation and benchmarking against other similar businesses, the owners of Adam’s could see the value aa would add to their business.
A true partnership!
aa set to work and within the agreed series of meetings and calls was able to quickly identify areas which would improve the business, realise greater profitability and create a clear path for continued growth.
